Review- Cemetery Man

Cemetery Man or Dellamorte Dellamore in Italian, is a freaking genius of a film.
It takes your typical zombie film and smacks it in the face with your shovel.
Francesco Dellamorte is the live-in cemetery caretaker in the village of Buffalora, Italy His only company is his assistant Gnaghi, who’s only dialogue is the word "Gna". Francesco's only hobbies are reading outdated telephone directories, and playing with bones. Oh yeah…he also puts down the living dead. The corpses routinely rise from their graves (usually on the seventh day), reanimated and ready to assault the living. Francesco, as if it was in the job description, readily destroys the "Returners" before they overrun the town.
Filled with motorcycle zombies, decapitated head romance, and existential philosophy, Cemetery Man is by far one of the best Italian films of the 90’s...and Martin Scorsese agrees with me on that. The character of Francesco (played by none other than Rupert Everett…yes, the guy who played Dr. Claw) was drawn from an Italian comic book hero called Dylan Dog, who in turn was graphically inspired by Everett.
This movie is a must see for anyone, and it was recently released on dvd featuring an awesome behind the scenes documentary. One of my top 10 picks.
